(i) There would be trials for selecting Indian Carrom Team for every international carrom event.
(ii) Henceforth National Ranking would be only the eligibility criteria for inviting players for selection trials.
(iii) For selecting 1 to 2 players for international events, one extra player on the basis of progressive National Ranking system would be invited for selection trials.
(iv) For selecting 3 to 6 players for international events, two extra players on the basis of progressive National Ranking system would be invited for selection trials.
(v) For selecting 7 or more players for international events, three extra players on the basis of progressive National Ranking system would be invited for selection trials.
(vi) Players will be allowed to appear in the selection trials only after they confirm in writing their participation in the international event for which the trials are held.
(vii) Selection trials would be organised 60 days before each international event.
(viii) In case even if there is any National Ranking tournament within the period of selection trials and the international event, the same would not be considered for change in the progressive national ranking for the purpose of inviting players for the trials.
(ix) Selection trials would be held on the basis of ‘round robin league’ basis among the invited players.
(x) All the matches would be held on the basis of best of three full games of 25 points.
(xi) Winner of each match would be awarded two points while no point awarded to the loser. Final position of players would be decided on the basis of total points secured by them on winning each match i.e. two points for each win.
(x) In case, at the end of round robin league, there is a tie of points between two players, the result of the match played by them against each other earlier in the round robin league shall decide their final standings. No further match will be organized to decide such standings/positions.
(xi) In case of tie among more than two players, the position of such players shall be determined on the basis of “games” aggregate for and against in the matches played by them against each other earlier in the league. In case there is again a tie even at that stage the “score” average for and against in the matches played by them against each other earlier in the league, shall be taken into account and their position determined. No further match(es) will be organized to decide their standings/positions in the league.
(xii) If for any reason, a selected player is not able to join the team, chance will be passed on the next player in the panel. In case even the panel players are not able to join, the next player will be selected by the General Secretary of the Federation on the basis of progressive National Ranking. The players who are not able to join the Indian team must inform the Federation immediately through fax or email
(xiii)Selection Sub-Committee would appoint Chief Referee and Umpires preferably from the State or District where trials are held. Draws and technical control of the selection trial matches would be the responsibility of the Selection Sub-Committee.
(xiv) The final panel of selected players for each international event along with minutes of their final meeting with signatures of all members present in the meeting shall be submitted by the Selection Sub-Committee to the General Secretary of the Federation for onward submission to the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India and for announcing the Indian team.
